On April 25, the 2023 National University Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships and the Rhythmic Gymnastics Trial of the 31st Summer World University Games were held at the Chengdu Sport University. The team from Chengdu Sport University won first place in the Group General Competition, and Zhao Yating from Beijing Sport University claimed first place in the Individual All-Around Competition.

The team of Chengdu Sport University, composed of Chen Minshan, Xiao Mingxin, Yan Zhiting, Chen Jiaqi, Zhao Hongyu, and Li Xuerui, played well in the qualification trials. They impressed the judges with their superb competitive skills and the performance of " Love Song of Kangding" and finally won first place in the Group General Competition with 60.15 points.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics team of Chengdu Sport University was founded in 1988 and is the first rhythmic gymnastics team among other universities in China. Over the past 30 years, the team has participated in major competitions at home and abroad, winning nearly 700 gold, silver, and bronze medals. It has trained eight international-level athletes. Huang Zhang Jiayang and Xiao Mingxin from Chengdu, who have made many excellent achievements, are also elected national team members.
