The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games


On Oct. 8th, the Hangzhou Asian Games concluded as "unprecedented success". In the Asian Games, we have harvested glory but also witnessed love and struggling.


CDSU athletes claimed seven gold, one silver and five bronze medals.


Zou Jingyuan, a graduate student of class 2021 from School of Physical Education, claimed two gold medals in the men's parallel bars competition and the men's gymnastics team event.

On September 24, the Chinese gymnastics team led by Olympic champion Zou Jingyuan grabbed the gold medal in the men's competitive gymnastics team final event with a total score of 274.458. This gold medal is the first gold medal won by Sichuan athletes at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and it is worth mentioning that in the last Jakarta Asian Games, the first gold medal won by Sichuan athletes was also contributed by Zou Jingyuan.

On September 29, Zou Jingyuan competed in the men's parallel bars final. Competed with smooth bar movements and high-quality completion, he scored 15.933 points, securing a gold medal for the Chinese team. He defended the gold medal in the parallel bars competition in the Asian Games, which was also Zou Jingyuan's fourth gold medal secured at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and kept his reputation as "King of Parallel Bars."

He Feng, a student of class 2021 from School of Wushu, claimed the gold medal in men's 70kg Wushu Sanda event.

On the morning of September 28, the Wushu Sanda final of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games was held in Xiaoshan Guali Sports Center. He Feng, a student of class 2021 from the School of Wushu, won the gold medal in the men's 70kg event. This is his second international champion on behalf of the Chinese team after winning the gold medal at the same level at the Chengdu University Games.


Liu Jiangchi, a student of class 2020 from School of Sports Training, won the gold medal in the men's skeet team and the bronze medal in the skeet mixed team event.

Li Xue, a student of class 2020 from School of Sports Training, won the gold medal in the women's 10 m air pistol team event.


On the morning of September 29, at the women's 10 m air pistol team final of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Li Xue (center), a 2020 student from the School of Sports Training, and her national teammates Jiang Ranxin and Zhao Nan won the gold medal with a total of 1,736 points after six rounds of intense and fierce competition, creating a new Asian Games record.


Huang Haiyan and Zou Meirong, students of class 2020 from School of Sports Training, won the gold medal in women's hockey event.

On the evening of October 7, China defeated South Korea 2-0 in the women's hockey final to win the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games and gain qualification for the Paris Olympic Games. Among the 18 people, 8 athletes from Sichuan were called up to the national team. Among them, Zou Meirong and Huang Haiyan are students of class 2020 from our university's School of Sports Training.

In the final, the Chinese team and South Korean team competed fiercely, and the rhythm of attack and defense was fast. In less than five minutes, the Chinese team made a dream start with a first goal. In the second half, Chen Yi and Huang Haiyan repeatedly threatened the opponent in front of the goal. Zou Meirong scored another goal six minutes before the end of the final period, helping the Chinese team to win 2:0.

On October 8, in the artistic swimming team event of the Hangzhou Asian Games, China claimed the team gold with a combined score of 868.9676 and gained qualification for the Paris Olympics. Among the team members, Xiao Yanning, an alumnus of class 2016 from the School of Sports Training, and Xiang Fengxuan, a student of class 2020 from the School of Sports Training, had outstanding performances in the event. Xiao Yanning won the champion for two consecutive Asian Games after winning the gold at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games and achieving second place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Peng Shikun, a student of class 2020, from School of Sports Training, won the silver medal in men's volleyball.

On the evening of September 26, the Chinese team 1:3 lost to the Iranian team in the Asian Games men's volleyball final to get the silver medal. The Chinese team member No. 15 Peng Shikun (the first from the left) is a student of class 2020 from the School of Sports Training. He had an amazing performance on the field with 10 points, of which the direct dunking scored 6 points, 3 points of the blocking net, and serve scored a point to help China's men's volleyball team to take the silver, which was achieved after 17 years in the Asian Games.

Zhao Yue, a student of class 2020 from School of Sports Training, won the bronze medal of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Individual Team event.

On October 6, in the rhythmic gymnastics individual team final of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Chinese team composed of Zhao Yue (right first) and her teammates Wang Zilu, Zhao Yating, and Li Huilin won the bronze medal with 313.400, which the medal achieved in the rhythmic gymnastics individual team final of the Asian Games since 2006 Doha Asian Games over the past 17 years.

As a Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team member, Zhao Yue competed in the Ball and Ribbon gymnastics, scoring 29.450 points in both routines, contributing to China's rhythmic gymnastics team winning the individual team bronze medal.


Liu Jiali, a student of class 2020, from School of Sports Training, won the bronze medal in track cycling all-around event.

On September 30, Liu Jiali (first from right), a student of class 2020 from School of Sports Training, won the bronze medal in the women's track cycling all-around event with a score of 121 points.

The all-around competition is a form of competition that tests an athlete's overall ability and consists of four events competed in a day, with the ranking determined by accumulating points from each event. In the first two events, the capture race and the sprint race, Liu Jiali won third place; in the elimination race, Liu Jiali won second place and secured the medal position. In the last scoring race, Liu outperformed and finally won the bronze medal.


Ma Yue, a graduate student of class 2021, and Fu Xiaochen, a graduate student of class 2019, won the bronze medal in the women's soft tennis team event, and Ma Yue tied for the bronze medal in the soft tennis women's singles.

The soft tennis of the Hangzhou Asian Games was held at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Tennis Centre from October 3 to October 7. The Chinese team, composed of Ma Yue, Fu Xiaochen, and their teammate Li Denglin, won the bronze medal in the women's soft tennis team event, and Ma Yue tied for the bronze medal in women's singles.
