On April 4th, the 2022 Wushu Routine Championship for Chinese College Students (Group C and D), which was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, concluded in Anlu City, Hubei Province. Under the leadership of Luo Xingshan, the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Wushu and the team leader, as well as Liu Jinli, the coach and associate professor, the 16 team athletes of Wushu Routines (Taolu) of Chengdu Sport University played tenaciously to win 9 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze medals, as well as the second place of men's Group C A team. In addition, Ms. Liu Jinli was recognized as an outstanding coach. Three students, Li Qun, Yang Jun Chen, and Shao Hongfeng, were awarded the title of the excellent athlete.
Since the end of the last competition, our Wushu team has been training systematically and scientifically, even during summer and winter vacations, holidays, and weekends with the care and guidance of the university leaders, the overall organization of the Academic Affairs Office, and the diligent direction of Coach Liu Jinli. All of these efforts laid a solid foundation for good outcomes. Throughout the competition, all the students showed unity and pragmatism, excellent self-improvement style, and the charm of traditional Chinese martial arts. They all carried forward the spirit of seeking breakthroughs bravely, working mightily, and pursuing excellence.
It is reported that the championship is hosted by the Federation of University Sports of China and Anlu Municipal People's Government and undertaken by Hongji Sports and Arts School in Xiaogan City. The competition featured a total of 77 teams from 67 universities, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Beijing Sport University, and the University of Macau participated in the competition. In addition, Wushu teams from Malaysia and Singapore also joined in for learning and exchanges. This championship includes more than 900 participants and is the most prominent, highest grade, and most socially significant game in recent memory.
