From March 17 to 18, 2023, the 6th Association of Sports Institutes in Asia (ASIA) Congress and the 5th Annual General Meeting were held in Hong Kong. Teachers of Chengdu Sport University (CDSU) were invited to attend the congress, including Professor Liao Yuanpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Sports Medicine and Health, Professor Li Mingda, Director of the Office of StrategicPlanning, and Yang Fei, Deputy Director of the International Office.

  Participants highlighted the supports that enables athletes to excel in their athletic career with a focus on the practical aspects and shared their best practices under various strands on how to nurture elite athletes and make champions in their respective countries/regions.

  At the congress, Professor Liao Yuanpeng and Professor Li Mingda delivered keynote speeches on "Construction and Application of Medical Security Model of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for High-level Athletes in China" and "CDSU Cases of High-level Competitive Sports Technology Innovation and Exploration". They actively discussed with the guests, providing CDSU experience in sports medicine and competitive sports technology from different perspectives.

  Yang Fei, Deputy Director of International Office shared and discussed with the participants about CDSU’s development, international sports exchanges, and preparations for major international events. He had in-depth exchanges with the Hong Kong Sports Institute on the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities and reached an initial cooperation intention.
