From March 26 to 27, 2023, Verena Burk, Chairman of the FISU Education Committee, and Lilia Barieva, Director of the FISU Education and Development, visited Chengdu to guide the preparations for the FISU World Conference.

  On the morning of March 26, Verena and Lilia attended the work meeting of the Chengdu FISU World Conference held at Chengdu Sport University. Attendees of the meeting included Pan Xiaofei, Executive Chairman of the Organizing Committee and President of Chengdu Sport University, He Benxiang, Executive Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Vice President of Chengdu Sport University, general secretaries of the Organizing Committee Office including Ou Xuesong, Yan Yiyou, Mei Qing and Wang Chun and relevant staff of working groups. The meeting was chaired by Ou Xuesong.

  At the meeting, Pan Xiaofei extended a welcome to Verena and Lilia for their visit to Chengdu and briefly introduced the Chengdu Sport University. The preparatory work for the conference was reported in detail from the aspects of operation mechanism, expert invitation, call for papers, main content of the conference, planning of the opening and closing ceremonies, preparation of the conference manual, venue situation, and conference support services.

  On behalf of FISU, Lilia expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Organising Committee of the FISU World Conference for its hard work. She highly recognized the work that had been carried out in the early stage, made in-depth exchanges with the Organising Committee on the details of transportation, accommodation, arrival and departure during the conference, and put forward guiding opinions. Lilia said that FISU will continue to provide strong support for the conference and look forward to jointly hosting the Chengdu FISU World Conference.

  During this period, Verena and Lilia visited the venue of the conference and held a special working meeting to further confirm the details of the meeting.
