On October 20, 2022, a series of traditional sports activities of "Home in Chengdu, " hosted by the National Language Service Export Base, and organized by Chengdu Sport University, were held at the Chengdu Sport University.

    Chinese people have advocated athletics and a love of life since ancient times. More than 20 international students and foreign teachers from Russia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Tanzania, and other countries participated in the activity, which had the theme of "Traditional Chinese Sports." With the professional introduction and guidance of our teachers, who teach the history of sports on archery, pitch-pot game, diabolo, Chuiwan, etc., they gained a deeper understanding of traditional sports culture in ancient China. The activity strengthened the friendship and enhanced exchanges between China and other countries.

    A student from the UK told the reporter that it was the first time he had experienced traditional Chinese sports since he came to China. He was delighted when joining in this interesting activity. He especially enjoyed diabolo and pitch-pot games and found that ancient people in China were so wise. And he also appreciated the glorious culture of traditional Chinese sports.

    A teacher from Russia believed that being provided with a great opportunity, he could not only learn from this activity but also appreciate the traditional Chinese sports culture. The interactions between Chinese and international students are promoted through the activity, and he will also recommend these ancient sports to more foreign friends. Chengdu has become increasingly international in recent years, featuring inclusiveness and diversity, which attracts many international friends to live and work there.

    In a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, the foreign teachers and international students in Chengdu could further enhance their recognition of “Home in Chengdu” and their awareness of the city as a global sporting events city. With the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games approaching, Chengdu is becoming a world-famous city for hosting international sporting events, and it is brimming with vitality and dynamism.
