At 7 p.m. on April 13 (Beijing Time), Chengdu Sport University (CDSU), Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (SCOLIPE), and Russian-Chinese Culture, Education, Science and Technology Development Foundation met online. The attendees included Seyranov Sergey Germanovich, president of SCOLIPE, Pavlov Evgeni Alexandrovich, vice present of SCOLIPE in charge of teaching, Shu Weiping, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of CDSU, Li Lin, director of the Academic Affairs Office, CDSU, relevant staff from the International Office, CDSU, Ms. Cui Shan, president of Russian-Chinese Culture, Education, Science and Technology Development Foundation, and Mr. Cui Fan, secretary-general of the Foundation.
First, on behalf of CDSU, Professor Shu Weiping greeted and offered congratulations to Mr. Seyranov Sergey Germanovich, the new president of SCOLIPE, and Mr. Pavlov Evgeni Alexandrovich. Then, Shu reviewed exchanges between CDSU and SCOLIPE, noting that since the memorandum of understanding between the two universities was signed and the cooperation relationship was established in 2019, exchanges between the two universities have never ceased, especially in student and academic exchanges. This year marks the Russia-China Year of Sports Exchange, Professor Shu continued, he hoped that by taking this meeting as an opportunity and relying on the existing discipline advantages and characteristics of both CDSU and SCOLIPE, the two universities will deepen cooperation, continue to expand areas of exchange, and jointly promote mutual visits of teachers, coach training, sports competition, cultural exchanges, and co-organization of "3+1" and"4+0" cooperatively-run institutions for physical education, sports training, and social sports disciplines, so as to achieve new heights in educational quality and level, implement Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions earlier, and achieve joint discussing for and co-building and sharing of the best educational resources of the two sides.
Mr. Seyranov Sergey Germanovich said that this was his first time as president of SCOLIPE to meet with CDSU's leaders to discuss the cooperation of the two sides, adding that he already had the idea to cooperate with CDSU back when he still served as the president of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture (MGAFK). He agreed with the cooperation project proposed by Secretary Shu and looked forward to new progress in student and academic exchanges and cooperative school running with CDSU.
This online meeting amid the pandemic has consolidated the friendship between CDSU and SCOLIPE, advanced in-depth cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Russian sports universities, and opened a new chapter of cooperation between the two sides.
