On the morning of July 24th, Mr. Ramon Fernandez, Deputy Director of the National Sports Commission of Philippines, led a delegation to visit our school. Shu Weiping, deputy secretary of the school party committee and president, met with the guests.
President Shu welcomed the visit of Mr. Ramon Fernandez and the delegation of the Philippines. He pointed out that China and the Philippines are closed in distance and have a long history of friendship. China and the Philippines not only have close cooperation in politics and economy, but also have solid cooperation in education and culture with fruitful results. President Shu said that our school attaches importance to exchanges with the Philippine education and hopes to jointly promote the interaction of talents and complementary advantages in the fields of education and sports, and strengthen the diversified forms of content in the martial arts and basketball; furthermore, the affiliated sports hospital of the new campus will build a professional modern rehabilitation center integrating diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. It is hoped to explore the cooperation between the two sides in this field and contribute to deepening the friendship between China and the Philippines and promoting the commonweal of the two people.
Mr. Ramon Fernandez thanked President Shu for his interview. He pointed out that China and Philippines are close neighbors, the cultural and educational exchanges are important catalysts for enhancing relations between the two countries. They hope to follow the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, strengthen multi-form cooperation and share experiences with Chengdu Sports University, also enhance the exchange in education and sports. He hoped that the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to promote the implementation of cooperation in basketball and medical care.
After the meeting, Mr. Ramon Fernandez and the delegation visited the Institute of Sports Medicine and Health.
